One day, a little boy's tablet dropped in a bucket of water in the bathroom. Despite being told countless times not to use his tablet in the bathroom, he had carried it in with him, and it slipped from his hands.
Fearful, ashamed and worried, the little boy hid the tablet in his wardrobe. Whenever his mother asked about it, he claimed he had lost interest in playing with it.
However, his secret was soon discovered when his mother stumbled upon the tablet while cleaning his wardrobe.
"What happened to your tablet?" she asked, her tone a mix of curiosity and concern. The little boy froze, overcome with fear. Slowly, he confessed the truth, revealing the events of that fateful day.
His mother was disappointed but took the opportunity to teach her little boy a valuable lesson about not telling lies.
"Mummy, why is it bad to tell lies?" the little boy asked softly.
"I'll give you three reasons why it is bad to tell lies," she began. "Number one, when we lie, we live in constant fear of being discovered. Haven't you been afraid of me finding out the truth about your tablet?"
The little boy nodded, his eyes cast downward.
"Number two, lies often lead to more lies." She gestured with her hands, illustrating the never-ending cycle. "You had to keep telling me you didn't want to play with your tablet because of the first lie."
The little boy nodded further.
"Number three, lies prevent people from helping us when we need it most. If you had told me the truth about the tablet when in dropped in water, we could have tried to repair it. Now, it might be beyond repair."
The little boy listened carefully, his face filled with disappointment.
His mother reassured him, "I know it's tempting to lie when we've done something wrong, but honesty is always the best choice."
"I'm sorry, Mum," the little boy said, his voice barely above a whisper, his face still cast downward.
His mother wrapped her arms around him, offering comfort and reassurance.
The End.
