Why are there bad people? II

As they refueled, the father continued his lesson. "So, can I share something that helps me in moments like these, princess?" he asked. The little girl nodded eagerly.

 

"Whenever I see someone doing something bad, like today, I remind myself of all the good things around me," he explained. "I think about your beautiful mother, who loves me so much. I think about you and your bright smile, and how much you love me."

 

The little girl's eyes began to sparkle as she listened. "Now, can you think of some good things that make you happy?" her father asked.

 

The little girl's face lit up. "I love my doll, Bunny!" she exclaimed. "And I love you, Daddy, and Mummy too!" She continued, "I love my cousins, especially when we play tag. I won the game today!"

 

Her father smiled, delighted to see his little girl focusing on the good things around her.


"That's wonderful!" he said. "And what about your favorite blanket? The one that keeps you warm and cozy?"

 

The little girl's smile grew wider. "Oh, yeah! My princess blanket!" She thought for a moment, then added, "And Grandma's biscuits! I love those too!"

 

Her father nodded, affirming her thoughts.


"Exactly, sweetie. When we see something bad, it really helps to remind ourselves of all the good things in our lives." He said to her.
