This is the third story in this series. If you missed the second part, find it here: Who is Jesus?

Her father continued, "So, Jesus came to the earth, and He decided to die for all the people who deserved to die. Yet, Jesus was actually good and had done nothing bad."

The little girl squeezed her eye brows as she said. "But Daddy, that's unfair if Jesus had done nothing wrong!"

Her father nodded, his eyes filled with emotion. "You are absolutely right, princess. Jesus had done nothing wrong, and yet, out of love for the people, He decided to die in our place."

"So, Jesus died, and He was put up on a cross," her father explained, his voice filled with emotion. He stood up and used his hands to demonstrate, stretching his arms out to the sides and tilting his head, illustrating how Jesus was crucified.

The little girl was saddened as she saw this.

"But what you're about to hear is the GREATEST news ever!" he exclaimed.

The little girl's face lit up with hope. "What is that, Daddy?" she asked.

Her father's face lit up with a radiant smile. "After three days, Jesus came back to life!”

“What?” the little girl asked in amazement!

“Yes, Jesus came back to life and He said that He had forgiven everyone who was bad! And then He said to all the people that if we believe in Him and have Him in our hearts, then we shall be made good in the eyes of God and then He went up to Heaven where He lives forever and ever with all the angels!"

The little girl's eyes went wide. "Wow!" she exclaimed.

Her father grinned, pleased. "You're beginning to get it princess!" he said with a chuckle.

The little girl beamed, feeling happy and proud.

"Jesus was the perfect sacrifice for all of us, and this is why you always see us praising and worshiping Him!" her father concluded.

As they sat together in the quiet of the evening, the little girl's father suggested they pray together before she went to bed.

"Dear God, thank you so much for the gift of Jesus. Thank you that because of Him, we are made good people before you. May we believe in you all the days of our lives. In the name of Jesus, Amen."

The little girl snuggled into her father's side, feeling safe and loved.
