Jozen and his brother were so excited to visit Grandma on Saturday morning. They loved playing in her backyard with her rabbits and eating her biscuits. As they walked in the door, Jozen looked around at the familiar rooms. Then he noticed Grandma's eye glasses. He had never seen her wearing glasses before.
Jozen kept looking at the glasses! He was curious. Finally, he asked, "Grandma, why are you wearing those glasses?"
Grandma smiled knowingly. "I've been waiting for you to ask!" She took off her glasses and invited Jozen closer. Together, they examined the smooth lenses.
"Do you know how our eyes help us see?" Grandma asked. Jozen nodded eagerly.
"Well," Grandma explained, "Sometimes our eyes need a little help to see things clearly. Do you ever squint to try to see things that are really far away?"
Jozen thought for a moment. Then he smiled. "Yes, I do!" he said. "Like when I'm trying to see the birds flying high in the sky."
"Exactly!" Grandma said. "So, my glasses help me see things that are far away more clearly."
Jozen's eyes lit up. "Like a magnifying glass!" he exclaimed.
Grandma beamed. "Exactly! Our eyes can use a little magnifying help sometimes. It's not just grandmas like me who need glasses, sometimes also little children might need help seeing clearly."
Grandma put her glasses back on and smiled. "Now, I can see your bright smile perfectly!"
Jozen smiled even wider.
Grandma continued to speak to Jozen, "Remember, Jozen, when you see someone wearing glasses like mine, it is not okay to make fun of them or treat them differently. We all need a little help sometimes, and glasses are just one way to get that help."
Jozen nodded, smiling up at Grandma. Then he ran off to join his brother, laughing and playing with the rabbits.
The End!
