As they inched forward in the line, a thought occurred to the father

"Let's do this. How about we think of a game to play while we wait? Would that help you with your patience?" he asked. "Yes! That's a good idea. What game should we play?" she asked, entering into excitement.

"Hmm…. Let's see who can say the alphabet but instead of starting from A to Z, we are going to start from Z to A," he challenged her. "Okay," the little girl said. "Let me go first. Z…… Y…… P……"

"Beep!" the father said, mimicking a sound of a buzzer to get her to stop. "You got the Z and the Y correct, but failed on the P. But that was a fantastic attempt." "Oh dad, this is going to be a tricky one. Okay, now it's your turn."

Just as Daddy was going to play his turn, it was their turn to pay. "Would you look at that? It's time for us to pay." After they paid for their groceries, the father continued with his lesson on patience.

"So, as I was telling you earlier my little girl, patience helps us to keep happy even when things take longer than they should. And usually, finding something fun to do as you wait makes the time seem to move faster!" he continued.

"You are right, Dad. As we started playing the game, I stopped being sad about the long line," she responded as she reached out for her biscuits. "Can I tell you how I learned to be patient?" he asked her.

"Oh yes!" She responded as she handed over the packet of biscuits to her father to help her open it up. "Praying to God to give me the gift of patience really helped me a lot. I also want you to pray whenever you can for God to help you to be patient." He said, and thereafter, they together enjoyed the biscuits.
