We are the Light

One evening, three little girls were snuggled up with their mother and father in the sitting room. They were all watching something on TV, enjoying some quality time together before bedtime.
Suddenly, the lights in the room flickered and then went out. The TV screen went black, and the room was filled with the sound of surprised gasps. The little girls held hands, trying to be brave in the darkness.
Their father quickly got up, lighting some candles to chase away the darkness. As the light of the candles illuminated the room, the little girls' faces lit up with relief.
"Happy with the light?" their father asked, smiling.
"Oh yes!" they said together. "At least now we can see! It was so dark!"
Their father's eyes twinkled as he began to share a valuable lesson. "You know, girls," he said, "whenever you are patient, speak kind words, forgive one another, and listen to Mommy and Daddy, you become like this candle."
He held up the candle, its flame dancing in the darkness. "Just like this candle gives light to our room, you can bring light and joy to those around you by being obedient and shining God's love."
The little girls listened to every word carefully, their eyes looking directly at the candle.
Their father reminded them of a special verse: "In the Bible, Jesus says we are the light of the world. So, just like this candle gave light to our room, we can all give light to those around us by sharing God's love."
As bedtime approached, the little girls hugged their mother and father goodnight. Just as they were heading to their rooms, the lights in the corridor flickered back to life.
'Look, the lights are back on!' they exclaimed, giggling with happiness!
The End!
