A little boy went on a playdate with his friend. When he arrived at his friend's house, he was amazed to see that his friend had almost twice as many toys as he did!
They played together and enjoyed every moment, but the little boy silently wished he also had as many toys.
After the playdate, when he returned home, his mother noticed a hint of disappointment on his face. "What's wrong, little prince? Didn't you have fun on your playdate?" she asked.
"Yes, I did, Mum," he replied. "It's just that my friend has so many toys, and I only have a few."
His mother smiled understandingly. "Oh, little prince, is that why you're feeling sad?" He nodded.
She invited him to sit with her. "What's your favorite toy here?" she asked.
"The green train," he replied after a moment's thought.
His mother smiled. "Here's the thing little prince, sometimes, having fewer toys means we can appreciate and enjoy the ones we have even more, and take extra special care of them."
The little boy's face brightened slightly as he thought about his beloved green train.
"So, for now, be happy that you have a toy to play with, and enjoy it to the fullest. It is always good to be happy with what we have!" His mother said. "And when we're able to, we'll get you some more toys, okay?"
The little boy nodded, feeling a wash of cheerfulness. "Okay, Mummy!"
He eagerly ran over to get his green train, and together, he and his mother spent the rest of the afternoon playing happily.
