Whenever the brown travel bag was pulled out, it always meant that Daddy was travelling somewhere far for a few days. So, when Mary and Elizabeth found him packing it in the bedroom, they knew the familiar question to ask.

“Where are you going daddy?” Elizabeth asked.

“I will be leaving for Nairobi next week for a meeting,” Daddy replied. “I will be there for three days.”

“Where is Nairobi?” Mary, the younger daughter, asked.

“Well, Nairobi is the capital city of a beautiful country called Kenya,” Daddy said while picking up his phone to show them where the country was located.

“Here it is,” Daddy said, pointing to the map on his phone.

“Wow!” Elizabeth, the older daughter, exclaimed. “It’s next to a lot of water! Look at all this blue!”

Daddy smiled as he agreed, “Oh yes, Kenya is right next to the Indian Ocean.”

"Daddy, have you ever gone to Nairobi before?" Mary asked, her eyes wide with curiosity.

Daddy zipped up his bag and sat on the edge of their beds. "Yes, I have. And you should know, Nairobi is a truly special place. Did you know that within the city there is a huge park called Nairobi National Park where you can see real, wild animals?"

Elizabeth gasped. "Like lions and elephants?"

"Exactly!" Daddy chuckled. "So, while I am attending my meeting in Nairobi, during the breaks, I might even get a chance to see some animals!"

"Wow!" Mary whispered.

“Will you also see giraffes?” Elizabeth asked, her eyes wide open with wonder.

"Yes!" Daddy responded. "And speaking of giraffes, still in Nairobi, there is also a place called the Giraffe Centre with very many tall giraffes that you can feed right from your hand! Imagine that!"

Elizabeth's eyes lit up even more. "That is so awesome!”

"It is, my girls!” Daddy said.

“Can we come with you?” the two little girls asked almost together.

“Pretty please, pretty please, pretty please,” they continued to plead while blinking their eyes adorably.

Daddy smiled at his two girls and their eager request. “Well, right now for this meeting, you can’t come with me. But we are going to plan together with Mummy and make sure that we all take a trip to Kenya and enjoy the wonderful city of Nairobi!”

“Hurrah!” the little girls danced with excitement.

“We are going to Kenya! We are going to Kenya!” they started chanting in a joyful song.

Their father smiled, watching the pure joy of his girls. And so, filled with the exciting promise of a Kenyan adventure, Mary and Elizabeth's dreams that night were filled with towering giraffes, playful elephants, and the vibrant greens of Nairobi as their father had explained to them. They couldn't wait for the day their family trip to the beautiful city would finally come true.

The End.
