As she sat in her favorite armchair, a warm cup of tea in her hands, the mother felt a sense of peace and happiness. She took a sip, closed her eyes, and enjoyed the moment.
While she enjoyed her tea, the cup slipped from her fingers, and a little tea spilled over the chair.
"Can you help me clean my chair?" she asked her son, who was engrossed in his favorite TV show.
"Yes, Mummy! I will!" the little boy replied confidently.
The mother smiled, feeling reassured that her son would take care of the mess. She got up from the chair, wiped her hands on a tissue paper, and headed to the kitchen to prepare lunch, leaving her son to clean up the spill.
However, the little boy got distracted by his TV show and completely forgot about his task. Two hours later, his mother returned to find a stubborn stain on her chair from spilled tea.
"Did you clean the chair like you promised?" she asked her son.
The little boy's eyes widened in shock. "Oh no, Mummy! I completely forgot! But don't worry, let me get a cloth and clean it right now!"
The little boy now ran quickly to the kitchen to pick up a cloth. His mother was disappointed, knowing that removing the stain would now require more effort.
As the little boy tried to clean the stain with a cloth, it wouldn't come out
"Get a container of water and some soap," his mother instructed, her voice filled with disappointment.
As she worked to remove the stain, she taught her son a valuable lesson. "When you say you're going to do something, it's best to do it right away. That way, it's usually easier to do, and you won't forget like you did this time."
The little boy looked down, remorseful. "Yes, Mummy, I'm sorry I forgot to clean the chair like you asked."
As the mother finally managed to remove the stain, she looked at her son and said, "You know, when we say yes to something, but don't follow through without a good reason, it's like saying no in the first place. Our words and actions need to match."
The little boy looked down, remembering how he had promised to clean the chair, but got distracted by his TV show instead. "I'm sorry, Mummy. I promise to do better next time."
The mother smiled warmly and hugged her son. "I believe you will."
