When Nolan was a little boy, he was very quiet and shy. The other children would often laugh at him and make fun of him because of his shyness.

At school, Nolan preferred to sit at the back of the classroom and never raised his hand to speak.

One day, his school announced a speech competition, and Nolan surprisingly decided to participate.

The other children teased him, saying, "Look, even the quiet one thinks he can give the best speech!"

But Nolan didn't let their teasing discourage him.

At home, Nolan told his mother about the competition, and she was overjoyed. "That's amazing, Nolan!" she exclaimed. "I believe you'll do your very best!"

Nolan worked hard, writing and practicing his speech every day.

The competition rules required each participant to deliver a 10-line speech in front of the entire student body.

"You can never win, shy boy!" The other students' would say, laughing. But Nolan continued to practice without giving up.

The evening before the competition, Nolan's father gathered the family to pray together.

"Dear God, thank you for our dear son, Nolan. We've seen him work hard every day. Please help him tomorrow during the speech competition. May he do his best and find joy in the result. In Jesus' name, Amen."

The day of the competition arrived, and Nolan put on a special shirt his mother had ironed for him, which had the words "Ekigambo Blog."

As Nolan waited patiently for his turn, the announcer's voice boomed through the hall.

"Next up is Nolan! Please come take the stage!"

Nolan walked up to the stage, holding his paper. He stood in front of the microphone, looked at the students, took a deep breath, and started speaking.

"My name is Nolan. Today, I'll be speaking about helping others.

Helping others means doing something for them that they can't do themselves.

I'm standing here today because someone helped me.

My parents couldn't afford to send me to this school.

I had given up hope of ever attending school

But one day, a Good Samaritan named Mr. Daniel offered to pay for my education.

I was very happy when I heard this, it was an answer to my prayer.

This is why I always try to do my best so that I can make my parents and Mr. Daniel proud.

When I grow up, I want to help others to else reach their goals, just like I was helped.

I hope my story will encourage you all to realize the power of helping others.

Thank you for listening."

The room filled with applause when Nolan finished speaking. Even the teachers cheered, and Nolan felt very proud.

Finally, the announcer revealed the winner: "And the winner is... NOLAN!"

The room filled with cheers and applause once more. The quiet, shy boy who was once teased by his peers was the champion of the speech competition!

The End

Nolan was a brave boy to enter the competition. Also we are grateful for people like Mr. Daniel that are unseen heroes in the lives of many people out there. May God bless them.
