As soon as she learned to comb her own hair, a little girl fell in love with her brown comb. She always took great care of it, ensuring it was clean after each use.

One morning, as she combed her tangled hair - the brown comb suddenly snapped, its plastic teeth scattering across her bedroom floor.

Disappointed, she tried to use the broken comb, but it was now useless as it couldn’t make her hair neat. Her mother entered the room with ironed clothes and saw the broken comb. "It seems your hair was too much for that comb," she said with a smile.

"Go get a bigger comb from my room," she instructed. The little girl hesitated while looking at the broken comb, "But mummy, I loved this comb!"

Her mother explained, "Sweetie, as your hair grows longer, you need a bigger comb to untangle it. Growing up means letting go of things that no longer work for us and embracing new ones."

The little girl reluctantly agreed. Her mother asked, "If you want to keep the same comb, shall we cut your hair short again?" The little girl's response was emphatic, "Oh no, mummy! I want my hair to grow as long as yours!"

Her mother smiled, knowing this was the perfect opportunity to teach her daughter about growth and change. "Exactly, sweetie. As your hair grows, you'll need new combs to make it easier to manage."

The little girl's face lit up with relief as she shared her honest feelings with her mother. "Well, it has been hurting a bit to comb my hair with this comb," she admitted.

"That's because it was now too small for your hair, sweetie," her mother responded with a gentle smile.

The little girl asked, "Will the new comb make it easier to comb my hair?"

Her mother reassured her, "Let's try it together. Bring the purple comb from my bedroom, and I'll help you."

As they combed her hair, the little girl discovered that it was indeed much easier and more enjoyable with the new purple comb.
