"Mummy, the baby is crying too much!" the little girl said, her voice a bit loud.

Her little sister, who was just one-month-old, was crying and crying. The sound filled the whole house, and it was starting to get a bit much.

Mummy had been holding the baby all morning, rocking her and patting her back, trying to make her feel better. She had even given her her special milk, but it only helped for a little while before the baby started to cry again.

Daddy had also tried to hold the baby and sing to her softly, but she still wouldn't stop crying. So, he gently handed her back to Mummy.

"Make her stop crying! I'm trying to watch my favorite cartoon!" the little girl said, a little impatiently.

Mummy, who looked very tired herself, just kept quiet and kept rocking the baby.

Then, Daddy came into the sitting room. He had heard his older daughter.

"Do you know why your baby sister is crying so much?" he asked her gently.

"No, Daddy!" the little girl answered. "But I really, really want her to be quiet!"

"Well," Daddy said, sitting down beside her, "right now, crying is the only way your little sister can talk to us. It's her way of saying, 'I need something!' Maybe she's feeling a bit uncomfortable, or maybe she's just sleepy. But she is trying to tell us something and mummy is trying to figure out what it is!"

Mummy smiled a little as she heard Daddy say this. It felt good to hear those words.

"That’s true!" Mummy said softly, "We all need to be patient with the baby. No one likes to cry all the time, so let's all try to be kind and understanding with her right now."

The little sister nodded her head, thinking about what Daddy and Mummy had said.

She realized that her baby sister wasn't crying to be annoying, but because she needed help. She decided to go over to where Mummy was sitting.

She found her colorful baby rattles, the ones that made a gentle "shak shak" sound, and started singing soft lullabies to her little sister.

Slowly, the baby's cries faded, replaced by peaceful quiet sleep.

The End.
