Cyrus was always terrified when the power went out in the night.

It was dark and scary for him. He would be playing with his brothers, Mark and Rodney, and as soon as the lights went out, he would start to cry loudly, calling for his mum.

This situation started right from when he was a baby; he never liked to be in a dark room. As he grew older, the fear of the power going out never left him. It continued to frighten him.

His mother, who was concerned about his fear, decided to buy him a small pocket torch. It was a small blue torch with a button that he pressed—click—and the light would come on.

He always carried it around in his pajamas. The moment the power went off, he quickly pulled out his torch and lit the room.

It happened the first time, and then many more, until he became the light in the room.

His brothers made it a habit to call, "Cyrus, light!" whenever the power went off. He would switch on the light and they would continue looking at their storybooks, which was their night routine. They loved looking at their storybooks, which had pictures, and taking turns reading to each other.

Whenever the power would go off, Rodney and Mark would call out loud, "Cyrus, light!"

He was so happy because it felt like he was the light hero in the room.

Slowly but surely, his fear of the dark began to take a back seat, and he enjoyed more playtime with his siblings even when the lights went out.

The End.
